About Low Level Laser Therapy

In a clinical study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Dermatology (Volume 5, Number 2, 2003), it was reported that the "combined average hair count increase for all men and women (using laser hair therapy) in the temporal and vertex areas was 95.5% and tensile strength was increased 78.9%".

Further evidence of laser therapy efficacy was reported in a six-month Dateline news survey of volunteers using different hair loss treatments (a popular over the counter medication, an over the counter lotion combined with the medication, a European natural ingredient, laser therapy, and hair transplantation).

Dateline Medical Experts said: "Laser Hair Therapy had substantial results."

What is Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)?

Low Level Light Therapy is perhaps the most significant non-surgical hair restoration technology available today. This emerging hair restoration treatment is rapidly gaining acceptance as a safe, non-invasive treatment for men and women experiencing hair loss.

LLLT is a light energy emitted from a laser diode that penetrates skin tissue while invigorating the scalp and living cells that deliver oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicle while reducing the harmful effects of dihydrotesterone (DHT.) The treatment produces no heat and therefore cannot harm.

After years of research, clinical studies, technology advancements and use in doctor’s offices, Holistic HairGrowth Center is bringing the revolutionary, therapeutic power of LLLT into our office for men and women looking for a natural treatment to hair loss and thinning hair.

Low Level Laser Therapy has been featured on news telecast stories all over the country on all of the major networks.

The scientific term for the process is called "Photobiostimulation" (PBS). The four distinct effects of PBS are an increase in ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) and protein synthesis, improved cell proliferation, a change in cell membrane permeability and increased blood circulation due to the dilation effect of the LLLT on capillaries.

The treatment is very simple and appointments last approximately 15-20 minutes. The treatment produces no heat and runs silently while you simply relax, listen to music, watch television or read.

What Type of Results Can I Expect?

In 2003, Dr. Glenn Charles, D.O. of in Boca Raton, Florida, completed a 10-subject clinical study on the effects of LLLT and its effects on hair loss and post surgery healing with hair transplant patients.

He concluded that the mean hair count of the test subjects increased 55.4% at the six-month period of the study with some subjects experiencing as much as a 96% hair count increase. Additionally, he concluded that post surgery hair transplant patients experienced reduced shock loss (telogen-effluvium) of transplanted hair as well as existing hairs and faster hair re-growth. The majority or patients also experienced a significant reduction in postoperative redness, discomfort and irritation from the surgery.
